Wednesday fun!

Yesterday, Brittanie took Katie school clothes shopping for me. I absolutely HATE shopping but Brittanie loves it. Brittanie also thinks I dress Katie "dorky" at times. So she wanted to pick out her clothes. Well Katie's school has a strict dress code and it is so hard to find clothes that don't make her look Amish that adheres to the dress code. Brittanie shopped with Katie all day and found a bunch of stuff. Unfortunately she could only find one denim skirt that was long enough so I had to buy the rest on the internet. What I didn't think about was Brittanie's love of black and hot pink. Most of the clothes she bought were black and hot pink. They all look good (except for one dress that she says is in style but I hate). I will have to take daily pictures when she starts school so everyone can see what I mean about this black/hot pink theme she has going. By the way, Brittanie found a great kids shoe store in Irmo called Goody 2 Shoes. She said it was small but had a great selection. They had the exact New Balance shoes that I wanted to buy her and for $4 cheaper than Zappos.com. The man in the store was very nice and very professional. He measured her foot, took Katie's old shoes off of her, tried both of the new shoes on and had her walk around, and even put her old shoes back on her when he was done. They are also creating a website and asked if they could take Katie's picture to put on their website. I'll blog the link when it gets done. But Brittanie said that was the best shoe shopping experience she has had.

Last night, Brittanie, Jessica, and I went to see the movie "Step Brothers." It was HILARIOUS!! We went to the 9:45pm movie at Columbiana Grande. I love that theater. It is my favorite in Columbia. After the movie was over, we went through town looking for an open IHOP. We ended up in downtown Columbia. Brittanie and Jessica are always fun to be around but after such a funny movie and late at night in a restaurant full of weirdos, they were even more fun. We definitely fit right in. Here are just a couple of pictures I took of them last night with my camera phone. They are truly crazy!

Brittanie's reaction to anti-war people

Brittanie is very sensitive when it comes to patriotism and the military. She has gotten fed up with these liberal anti-war people spouting off so she sent out a bulletin to give her opinion on the subject. I loved it so I wanted to post it here......here is the direct quote:

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling that thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which his is willing to fight, nothing is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Just a suggestion

Since Katie thinks being a network engineer is the most boring job ever, she suggested a new profession for him that she thinks would be more fun.

This morning

This morning Tom took Katie to the dentist to get a cavity in one of her molars filled. It is only fair that he do it since I had to be there for all of those horrible baby shots, right? Well she did great. She cried a little with the shot to numb her but after that she was a big girl. After that was over, they rode around for a bit and once the numbness had worn off, he took her to Krispy Kreme to get a donut.....I guess it was time to make another cavity right? lol She loves going to Krispy Kreme. The employees are very sweet to everyone, especially kids, and give them a paper hat like the employees wear. Well on the way home, she asked Tom if donut makers make alot of money because if they do, she would want to do that. Tom told her no. They don't make alot of money. She was disappointed at that. She asked Tom, "Daddy, what do you want to be when you grow up?" He laughed and said, "Baby, I'm already grown up." She said, "Oh. So what do you do?" He said, "I'm a network engineer." She said, "That sounds like the most boring job ever!" LOL

Well Tom got home and told me this story and when he was done, she came running in with the Krispy Kreme hat on. She said, "Mom, what do I look like?" I said, "Someone that makes minimum wage." She said, "Besides that!" LOL

Later she decided that she doesn't care how much it pays, she wants to fly jets for a living. That child has loved planes since her first ride at 2. On the way home from school sometimes, I will ride past the airport, and she doesn't really care about the little planes. She loves that BIG UPS plane that is usually in clear view from Highway 302. Brittanie is my Army girl but I think Katie is going to be my Air Force girl.

Instant Heart Attack

I was surprised that this wasn't a meal in the south. It is actually served in a restaurant in New York. Krispy Kreme Bacon Cheeseburgers aka Luther Burgers. My mom puts sugar in everything. I can see her making these things! lol

Steve Spurrier Ladies Football Clinic 2008

Brittanie attended the Steve Spurrier Ladies Football Clinic today and she had a blast. She met Steve Spurrier, held a conversation with Steve Spurrier's son, and threw the football with Tommy Beecher, the Gamecock starting quarterback for the 2008 season. She learned alot and Steve Spurrier's son gave her some tips on improving her spiral. She loved it and is looking forward to going again next year. She says it was well worth the money ($54). She said it would have been better had there been less "old ladies" in there. lol She was the youngest one there. She is ready for intramural football to start! Here are some pictures that she took today.

It started off at the Colonial Center.

She looks like a midget next to the offensive linemen!
That's Tommy Beecher (above). Unfortunately, the stupid reporters were let in and even though the ladies paid good money to see the players, Tommy was tied up with those reporters and didn't have much time to talk with the ladies. Next year, they need to keep the reporters out or at least not allow them to interview the players until it is all over.

The rest of the pictures were taken at Williams Brice Stadium.

Player cubbies. The ladies were allowed to put on the player's helmets, pads, uniforms, etc. Unfortunately, Brittanie didn't have anyone to take a picture of her with the player jersey on.

Brittanie had a great day. They were allowed to run from the tunnel through the smoke and onto the field while 2001 was playing over the speakers. She said that was awesome. One thing she thought was weird was that there was a weird looking girl there that bore a striking resemblance to one of Tom's coworkers but all of his coworkers are guys so it couldn't have been....or could it? LOL
